Hancrafted art in a mass produced world
With my art I strive to create dynamic and visually engaging compositions. I draw inspiration from historical art movements, especially dada, surrealism, and pop art, as well as commercial media such as comic books and animation. All my work is created using mostly low tech methods. The images I resource are all hand-cut and sourced from vintage print sources, such as vintage photographic compilations and comic books.
There are no intentional underlying themes or messages within my work, other than humor and absurdity. I leave interpretation of meaning entirely up to the viewer. My hope is that the viewer will take the time to engage and read the works in the literal sense of the term, and come up with their own ideas of what it might all mean.
